Mozambique Launches New AI Association as Country Pushes to Build Its Technology Future
Mozambique has taken a major step toward strengthening its artificial intelligence ecosystem with the official launch of the Mozambican Association of Artificial Intelligence (AMIA) in Maputo.
The new association is expected to bring together government institutions, technology companies, universities, researchers, entrepreneurs, technology professionals and civil society groups to encourage the development and responsible adoption of artificial intelligence across the country.

The launch was opened by Lourino Chemane, Chairman of the Board of the National Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, and also included the swearing-in of members of AMIA’s leadership bodies.
